Have been watching Mawaru Penguindrum. Pretty interesting, though it's getting more and more disturbing moments. Found it easier to get into than Utena. It's got allot of allusions to a particular Japanese author that are hard for non-japanese to miss. Maybe the eventual dub's DVD should come with a guide to all the allusions in the series ( Read more... )

Why on earth haven't valravns been exploited to hell and back by the Princess Tutu fandom? HEART-EATING RAVEN KNIGHTS. It's like all the dark, non-girly elements of Princess Tutu in a single package. Yum.

We finally finished Princess Tutu.
By the end of first season, she was wowed. Second season hooked her even more.
Had to keep telling her NO DAMNIT THEY'RE NOT GOING TO DIE THAT'S JUST WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO THINK over and over in order to get her to actually finish it, though. She was pretty disapointed at the ending (she was hoping Duck could stay ( Read more... )

Been rewatching Princess Tutu. Trying to itroduce a RL friend to the series.

Wow, I forgot how formulatic the first episodes were. (Friend asked if all the episodes were going to about Tutu endlessly seaching for heart sharts. ) Thankfully we left off at the introduction of Kraehe, so at least she's seen the plot actually rear its head.
